Next, you’ll use the National Verifier to confirm your eligibility. You can instantly qualify if you participate in a government program (like SNAP, Medicaid, or SSI) or if your household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Receive Your Free Smartphone
Once your application is approved, we’ll ship your free Apple or Samsung smartphone and SIM card straight to your door. There are no activation fees, contracts, or hidden costs. Just insert the SIM and enjoy your free service!
Who is Eligible for Lifeline?
There are two main ways to qualify for this free government-supported program. You only need to meet one of these requirements.
1. By Program Participation
You are automatically eligible if you or a member of your household participate in programs like:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit

2. By Household Income
If you don’t use the programs above, you can still qualify if your total household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
